Twilight In The Park Fundraising Benefit
The Nature Discovery Center was established by the Friends of Bellaire Parks, a nonprofit organization founded in 1979. The organization raised the funds for the purchase of a million dollar 4-acre estate, which is now Russ Pitman Park. With the help of many volunteers and over 300 in-kind donations, the Friends developed the park, renovated a 1920's house in the park, and gave both to the city of Bellaire. In the house they established and now operate the Nature Discovery Center, which has been in operation since 1989. The Center offers Discovery Rooms, programs for children and adults, special events and school programs. It is truly a wonderful venue for everyone to explore the wonders of nature and science.
Each year there is a fundraising event for the Nature Discovery Center called Twilight in the Park held in the Russ Pitman Park. Illuminations Lighting Design is proud to have provided all of the permanent lighting in the gardens surrounding the Henshaw House. We are also pleased to announce that Illuminations Lighting Design will once again be a corporate sponsor for Twilight in the Park and will be donating temporary lighting and electrical panels to be used during this function.
