Houston Construction News Features Illuminations Lighting Design in February Issue

Illuminations Lighting Design wishes to thank the staff at Houston Construction News for recently featuring us in the February issue.  Being recognized as key players in the community of Houston contractors is something we greatly appreciate, and a reputation we intend to both uphold and build upon in the months to come.

Houston Construction News is a monthly publication that features local area construction companies and subcontractors from construction-related industries.  The publication itself is impressive in its comprehensive of the subject matter.  Articles spotlight new building projects, emerging and established companies, legal and economic issues surrounding the industry, and biographies of reputable executives who have pioneered and defined the Houston marketplace.

By examining the Houston contractor marketplace from multiple points of view, Houston Construction News helps to both inform the community and to promote superior talent throughout our city.

February’s issue recently turned the spotlight on ILD founder Tom Kretzschmar in an article that discusses Tom’s intentions in founding ILD, his philosophy of business, and his vision for future expansion.  The impetus for this write-up followed on the heels of ILD’s 28th anniversary in business…a milestone for a company that from its inception sought to be a pioneer and a leader in the Houston Electrical Contractor Community.

Rooted in a background of sound electrical engineering and service principles, Tom’s vision was to use electrical design like a builder uses concrete for the foundation of a building.  He set out to overlay superior lighting systems on top of safe, solid advanced electrical systems to create functional, practical arrays that also added decorative and aesthetic appeal to corporate environments.

28 years later, history has validated Tom’s vision as an innovation that both worked and continues to work.  The article notes that once a year Illuminations Lighting and Design professionals network throughout the year with Houston contractors and architects, participating in a leadership role by hosting socials and sharing new business strategies and leads with one another.

ILD’s emerging status as a leader in the community of Houston contractors is due mostly to the company’s dedication to multi-specialized excellence.  Lighting design is approached from a holistic perspective that is intended to unite building exteriors with Natural landscapes, and building interiors with office ergonomic and process flow priorities.
