 The foundation of our Houston interior design services is the custom illumination of unique interior architecture.  Every luxury home is characterized by an individual interior build out that distinguishes it as a truly custom dwelling constructed to reflect the personality and lifestyle of the owner.

Our first task is to learn this interior layout and follow it like a blueprint for lighting design.  Layers of light are added to each room of the home based on what best magnifies that room’s unique significance to interior décor.  Depending on the room’s layout and its particular content, up to four layers of lighting may be overlaid and combined to bring out the rich uniqueness of its particular interior décor.

One of the more unique aspects of our Houston interior design service is the specialty lighting that we provide for fine art and sculpture.  Most of our clientele decorates at least a portion of their home with various works of art ranging from original oils to high-end photography to sculptures of various genres.  Some even have private galleries in a special room of the house dedicated to fine art collecting.

Our specialty fixtures and fine art lighting techniques represent a very eclectic service exclusively available only through ILD.    While there are many art lighting companies in existence that make very fine equipment indeed, we believe that our proprietary fixtures and special techniques make us so unique that we truly have the best fine art lighting solutions available to clients throughout Houston and all of Texas.

Along similar lines, we also have specialty fixtures that highlight room furnishings.  Houston interior design depends greatly upon the procurement of the right types of furnishings and the proper arrangement thereof.  Without light, however, the beauty of interior décor cannot be seen.  Our mission is to showcase your very best furniture with specialty lighting that brings out both color and patterns of arrangement in each room of your house.

In some cases, our lighting design team will use proprietary cabinet, in-cabinet, display, and cove lighting fixtures that add a special touch to your kitchen, living room displays, and dining room ceiling areas.  Other decorative fixtures are added to various parts of the room to provide ambient, decorative, and special task lighting.

Such fixtures include, but are not limited to, pendant lights for kitchen islands, decorative wall sconces for hallways, stairways, and larger rooms, and chandeliers for living rooms and dining areas.  Unlike many of the fixtures that we deliberately conceal to better highlight the objects we are lighting, decorative fixtures like the ones named above are meant to be seen as objects of décor in and of themselves.

In fact, the decorative nature that characterizes much of the equipment we sell makes a true Houston interior design firm in the strictest use of the term.  Whereas on one level we create fields of light to support architecture, interior color schemes, and room contents, on another level, we actually add to content and décor with equipment that is just as beautiful as it is functional.

Keep in mind too that all of our Houston interior design and lighting design plan services revolved around the hub of lighting control.  Sophisticated, user friendly control systems give each resident in the home absolute control over individual light fixtures and entire lighting arrays.  This makes our service more than just a support for the way a home looks.
