Most displays with non-reflective backs can only be lit effectively through the use of special linear lighting strips that are designed to mount vertically or horizontally within the cabinet interior.  It takes a trained professional to select the various best cabinet lighting fixtures for this purpose, especially for lighting sculptures.  It is highly unlikely that anything generic that you might buy in a store or find for twenty dollars on the Internet is going to serve you well.  Such fixtures tend to stick out visibly like sore thumbs, use power inefficiently, and overheat quickly.

The newer equipment we provide our clients with is built for energy efficiency and heat reduction.  Lutron wallbox dimmer controls can reduce power and heat output, and low voltage transformers can operate any cabinet lighting source at much lower cost than general room lighting fixtures.  We are always available to provide new light sources for display cabinets that need an upgraded look.

Clients now have two options within this service offering that they can consider.  If they need to install new fixtures in a cabinet, we can provide them with concealed linear fixtures custom fitted to the cabinet dimensions.  We can then recommend the very best color temperature for the display cabinet contents and fit the linear strips with LED lamps that create the desired output.

If a client has a cabinet that already is using linear cabinet lighting strips, but is operating on hot-burning xenon or incandescent lights, we can retrofit LED lamps to the existing linear lighting array without having to replace the entire system.  This is our way of saving client’s money and literally turning light itself into a form of decorative art.
